The Order
of Merit of
Chile
was created in
1929
to correspond
care provided
by foreign
armies
Chilean officers
who were
perfect in
-its
friendly countries
predecessor was
the Medal
of Merit
distinction created
during the administration
of President
Germán
Riesco
through
decree
1350
of
September 14, 1906
the Ministry of
Guerra
.
The first 200
Military
Merit
medals were
minted
in gold and
silver
, receiving
the titles of
first and second
kind
, respectively.
They
struck at
the Mint
,
wore a
tricolor
ribbon,
but with
the order of
colors used
prior to
1915.
The medal
suffered
minor
regulations
for
granting
in June 1910
and May
1911,
when it was established
that the medal
will be awarded
only
on
September 18
, through
the candidate
's written
to her
proposal.
Later in
August
of the same year
, the distinction
added
a new category
and are thus:
