The Order of Henry the Lion, also House Order of Henry the Lion or Herzoglich Braunschweigischer Order of Henry the Lion called, is a Braunschweigischer Order, which was founded on April 25, 1834 by Duke William of Brunswick as civil and military merit in memory of Henry the Lion.
Medal Decoration
The religious character is an eight-pointed golden, light blue enamelled cross of St. John with red, bead blasted agent sign with the winning column mounted with jumping Sachsenross and on the wings of the helmet and the peacock feathers of the crest.
A lion crown and cross connects between the wings are winning W for the founder of the Order of Duke William.
On the reverse of the center plate of the motto is Immota FIDES (Unwavering loyalty) to the orbiting Roman year MDCCCXXXIV the Foundation.
In contrast to all other class the cross of the Knights Templar II. Class of silver is made.
The IV. Class is also made of silver and is only enamelled medallion.
The Distinguished Service Cross of both classes is a high cross with an attached medallion.
This is to see the winning Initial W founder.
On the cross arms of the Order Currency IM / MO / TA / FIDES.
Between the cross arms of the first class in addition a green enamelled oak wreath runs.
The decorations is a round medal, with the first class in silver, the II. Class was minted in bronze.
In the obverse of a wreath of oak leaves enclosed and overtopped by a crown initial of the founder.
In reverse the previously described two-line religious motto.
In a sechstrahliger star and including two crossed oak branches.
Grand Cross and the Kommanandeurkreuz First Class also includes a silver octagonal breast star with the cross in the middle.
The Grand Cross could also be on special occasions with a Collar of consisting of Leo, the coat of arms with trophies and the central shield supported.
