The medal 70 Years of the USSR Armed Forces

The medal "70 years of the USSR Armed Forces" (Russian Юбилейная медаль "70 лет Вооружённых Сил СССР") was an award of the Soviet Union, which on 24 January 1988 to mark the 70th Anniversary of the Soviet armed forces was donated in one stage.
The 32 mm measured by gilt brass medal shows on its obverse three left-looking head portraits of all three branches of the armed forces of the Red Army in the order of Army, Navy, Air Force. The symbolism is surrounded by a laurel wreath, which unites at its top center in a Soviet star. The lower intersection of laurel branches is superimposed on the annual figures 1918/1988. The reverse of the coin shows, however, the five-line inscription: 70 / лет / Bооруженные / Cид / СССР (70 years Armed Forces of the USSR). Below this inscription form two crossed branches of laurel and oak leaves completion. The medal was worn on the left breast side of the Beliehenen on a pentagonal red barrette with green seam in the middle of a vertical center stripe is woven in shades of yellow-gray-yellow. The interim clip is of the same nature. It 9.84216 million medals were awarded.
